BLUE BEAR® BEAN•e•doo® Mastic Remover is a soy-based mastic and adhesive remover for restoring concrete floors during residential remodeling and DIY flooring projects. Its penetrating formula softens stubborn adhesive residue so it can be removed without relying on harsh solvent-based removers.
This concrete mastic remover works on black mastic, vinyl-acrylic mastics, carpet adhesive, tile adhesive, and layered flooring glue, including residue that has remained for decades. It helps homeowners remove old adhesive before cleaning and preparing the concrete for a new floor covering.

It is intended specifically for horizontal concrete surfaces. Do not use it on wood, and protect nearby wood, drywall, drains, and untreated materials before beginning the project.
BEAN•e•doo can soften black mastic that contains asbestos, but it does not test the material or make asbestos removal risk-free. If asbestos is suspected, stop before disturbing the adhesive, have it properly evaluated, and follow all applicable regulations. Qualified asbestos abatement professionals may be required.
Yes. The soy-based formula has low odor and low VOC content, making it suitable for indoor projects and occupied areas. Black mastic typically softens in approximately one to two hours, while vinyl-acrylic mastic generally requires four to eight hours. Actual dwell time may vary with the adhesive type, age, thickness, number of layers, surface condition, and temperature. Allow the adhesive to soften fully before scraping.
Test a small, inconspicuous area first. Spread BEAN•e•doo across the concrete with a long-handled brush or squeegee, completely covering the adhesive ridges. Once the mastic has softened, remove it with a long-handled scraper or floor squeegee. Repeat the treatment if stubborn residue remains.
After scraping away the softened adhesive, clean remaining residue with BLUE BEAR® Emerge™ Cleaner & Degreaser and a long-handled brush. Rinse the treated concrete with water using a mop or pressure washer. Complete residue removal is important before preparing the concrete for another floor covering.
Concrete may darken while using BEAN•e•doo, which is why a small, inconspicuous test area is recommended before treating the entire floor. Protect adjoining wood and drywall with a sand barrier, and prevent the remover from flowing into drains, low areas, or onto untreated surfaces.
