A shower niche creates recessed storage within a tiled shower wall for bottles, soap, and other shower items. Prefabricated tile-ready niches can simplify construction of the recessed area and are available in different dimensions and configurations. Installation and waterproofing requirements depend on the niche and wall system.

Tile-ready shower benches and compatible shower shelves can be incorporated into tiled shower assemblies when designed for that application. The required preparation depends on the product construction and installation method. Follow the manufacturer's requirements for mounting, waterproofing, surface preparation, tile setting, and any applicable load limitations.
