Sausage caulking guns dispense compatible sealants and adhesives supplied in flexible sausage packs. They are used for construction sealing, waterproofing, movement joints, expansion joints, and other applications depending on the material. Gun capacity, dispensing force, nozzle configuration, and package size should be matched to the product being applied.

Manual caulking guns use hand-operated trigger pressure, while cordless and pneumatic guns use powered drive systems to dispense material. Powered tools can reduce repetitive trigger operation during higher-volume work. The appropriate type depends on material viscosity, package format, application volume, required control, available power source, and user preference.

A caulking gun can dispense different compatible materials when their packaging, dimensions, and viscosity fall within the tool's specifications. Thick construction adhesives can require more dispensing force than lighter caulks or sealants. Backer rod type, diameter, placement, compression, and compatibility should be selected for the specific sealant system.

Waterproofing sealants can use cartridge guns, sausage guns, or other dispensing equipment depending on the product's packaging and viscosity. The waterproofing manufacturer can specify compatible package sizes, nozzles, or application requirements. Select the gun according to the sealant rather than assuming waterproofing products require one particular dispensing format.

Start with the sealant or adhesive being dispensed and identify its package type and capacity. Then consider material viscosity, required dispensing force, application volume, bead size, joint access, and whether manual or powered operation is preferred. Verify compatibility with any required nozzles, adapters, barrels, and replacement components.
