Product Information
The Alpha® Hot-Rod is a 3" diamond blade designed for cutting reinforcement channels in marble and other softer stone. It allows fabricators to create channels for stainless steel reinforcing rods around sink and cooktop cutouts in a single pass, reducing the labor involved in traditional rodding methods.
The Hot-Rod for Marble is available in two blade thicknesses for common reinforcement applications. The HS03A+ creates channels for 1/8" rods, while the HM03A+ creates channels for standard 1/4" rods. The 3" blade diameter provides better leverage and positioning when cutting channels approximately 1/4" deep.
The blade can be paired with Alpha AWS-110 and AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutters for smooth, dust-free channel cutting. Its 7/8" and 20 mm arbor compatibility supports the specified Alpha stone cutters, while a maximum operating speed of 14,500 RPM accommodates high-speed cutting applications.
Alpha recommends wet cutting for channel-cutting applications, but the Hot-Rod blade can be operated wet or dry. In addition to countertop rodding, the blade can be used with an Alpha Ecocutter for grout removal, extending its use beyond stone fabrication.
