Product Information
Alpha® Ceramica Dry are 4" diamond polishing pads developed for dry edge finishing on natural stone and cement-based composites. They can be used as a natural stone polishing pad or polishing pad for concrete and terrazzo edges, but they are not designed for floor machines or broad top-polishing applications.
The dry polish pad uses a specialized manufacturing process to create a thicker diamond layer than typical dry resin pads. This construction is designed to improve polishing quality and extend pad life throughout the grit progression.
Each polishing disc has hook-and-loop backing for fast grit changes and is designed for use with Alpha® Backer Pads. The discs work with compatible low-speed sanders and polishers, including handheld wet polishers used dry. Maximum operating speed is 4,500 RPM, with Alpha identifying approximately 4,000 RPM as the preferred speed.
Ceramica Dry is available in color-coded 60, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 grits. The CD40KIT includes one 4" pad in each grit for a complete polishing sequence, and Alpha recommends progressing through every grit without skipping steps.

Common Questions
Yes. Ceramica Dry is designed for dry edge polishing on natural stone. Alpha does not recommend dry use on engineered stone or quartz surfaces because heat may burn the resin components in those materials.
It can be used to polish edges on concrete, terrazzo, and other cement-based composites. It is not intended for floor-polishing machines or broad top-polishing applications.
No. The pads are designed for dry polishing. Although they can physically be used with water, Alpha does not recommend them as wet polishing pads because water may cause premature wear of the bonding system.
The 4" pads are available in 60, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 grits. Alpha recommends progressing through the complete sequence without skipping grits.
Ceramica Dry polishing discs must not exceed 4,500 RPM. Alpha identifies approximately 4,000 RPM as the preferred operating speed.
The pads have hook-and-loop backing for attachment to compatible Alpha Backer Pads and quick changes between grits.
Yes. They work with compatible low-speed sanders and polishers, including handheld wet polishers operated dry. Ordinary high-speed angle grinders should not be used unless they provide variable-speed control within the pad's operating limit.
The CD40KIT includes six 4" Ceramica Dry pads, with one each in 60, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 grit.
