Product Information
Alpha® Rigid Backer Pads provide a super rigid, flat backing surface for polishing straight edges and flat surfaces. The rigid construction keeps flexible polishing media flatter against the work surface, helping reduce surface distortion and the wavy finish that can occur when using flexible backer pads.
The hook and loop surface accepts Alpha Ceramica polishing pads as well as compatible sandpaper and felt wheels. This allows fabricators and tile contractors to use the same rigid backing platform with multiple polishing and finishing media while maintaining firm support against the work surface.
The rigid design provides controlled support when working in smaller areas such as corners and staircases. Alpha Rigid Backer Pads are also used by fabricators, tile contractors, monumentalists, restoration workers, and with flexible diamond discs on compatible automatic edge polishing machines for bullnose applications.
The 4" and 5" Rigid Backer Pads use a standard 5/8"-11 thread that fits many popular polishing tools and grinders. Both supplied models are rated for a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM.
