Product Information
Alpha® Rigid Hook & Loop Backer Pads provide a firm, flat backing surface for polishing straight edges and flat surfaces. Their super-rigid construction keeps flexible polishing media flatter against the workpiece, helping reduce surface distortion and the wavy finish that can occur with flexible backers.
The hook-and-loop face accepts Alpha® Ceramica polishing pads, compatible sandpaper, and felt wheels. This allows fabricators and tile contractors to use one rigid backing plate with multiple polishing and finishing media while maintaining consistent support against the work surface.
The rigid construction provides controlled support when polishing corners, staircases, straight edges, and other confined areas. The backer pads can also support flexible diamond discs on compatible automatic edge-polishing machines for bullnose applications.
Alpha Rigid Backer Pads are available in 4" and 5" sizes with standard 5/8"-11 threads. Both sizes fit many compatible polishers and grinders and have a maximum operating speed of 6,000 RPM.
