Waterproof Tub-to-Wall Transitions

wedi® Subliner Dry Tub Sealing Tape is designed to waterproof the critical transition between acrylic or plastic tubs and surrounding wall assemblies. It creates a waterproofing backup at the tub perimeter, helping protect an area where traditional wall backers can separate from the tub edge and create a potential path for water intrusion.

Designed for Tubs Without a Nailing Flange

The sealing tape provides a waterproof connection for acrylic and plastic tubs and showers that do not have a traditional nailing flange for integration with the wall assembly. This allows the tub perimeter to be incorporated into the surrounding waterproofing system instead of relying solely on the finished tub-to-wall joint for protection.

Butyl Adhesive for Direct Tub Attachment

A butyl-based adhesive strip attaches directly to the outside perimeter edge of the tub, creating a secure connection between the tape and tub surface. The remaining portion of the tape extends upward into the wall assembly, establishing a continuous waterproof transition from the tub edge to the surrounding wall waterproofing.

Installation with Horizontal Wall Blocking

The tape is installed before the surrounding wall assembly is completed. After attaching the butyl adhesive strip to the tub perimeter, the tape is positioned against horizontal blocking installed between the framing studs. This provides backing for the waterproof transition and allows the tub edge to integrate properly with the wall assembly.

Subliner Dry Waterproofing System Integration

Subliner Dry Tub Sealing Tape is designed for integration with the wedi® Subliner Dry waterproofing system. Subliner Dry components are used to waterproof wall and floor assemblies beneath tile and natural stone, allowing the tub transition to become part of the same continuous waterproofing approach used throughout the surrounding wet area.

4-3/4" Wide Tape for Tub and Shower Installations

Each roll measures 4-3/4" wide by 11' long, providing material for waterproofing tub and shower perimeter transitions. The tape is manufactured in the USA and is intended specifically for acrylic and plastic tub and shower installations requiring a waterproof connection between the fixture and wall assembly.
