Product Information
Nuheat® Membrane is a tile underlayment and uncoupling membrane designed to reduce the risk of tile cracking caused by movement in the flooring assembly. It achieved a High Performance rating under the ANSI A118.12 System Crack Resistance test and an Extra Heavy rating in the ASTM C627 Robinson Floor Test.
The membrane accommodates Nuheat Cable, the cold lead joint, end seal, and sensor probe without cutting or modifying the membrane. Cable spacing can be adjusted to provide 10, 12, or 15 W/ft² heat output, allowing the underlayment and floor heating components to work together as an integrated system.
Nuheat Membrane can replace one layer of plywood or cement board in the subfloor assembly and is compatible with modified or unmodified thinset. Standard Membrane also provides waterproofing when installed with waterproofing seam tape, combining uncoupling, crack isolation, and waterproofing capabilities beneath tile.
Common Questions
Nuheat Membrane is used as a tile underlayment for uncoupling and crack isolation. It is also designed to simplify the installation of Nuheat Cable floor heating systems.
Yes. Nuheat states that the membrane can replace one layer of plywood or cement board in the subfloor assembly.
Yes. The membrane accommodates Nuheat Cable along with the cold lead joint, end seal, and sensor probe without requiring the membrane to be cut or modified.
Nuheat Cable can be installed at varied spacing within the membrane to provide 10, 12, or 15 W/ft² heat output.
Standard Nuheat Membrane provides waterproofing when installed with waterproofing seam tape.
Yes. Nuheat Membrane is compatible with both modified and unmodified thinset.
