Product Information
The Nuheat® Mat Wire Repair Kit provides the components needed to repair a damaged section of resistance wire in a Nuheat heating mat. The repair replaces the damaged wire section while restoring the protective braid and insulated connections around the heating wire.
The kit includes a piece of resistance wire, hollow braid, three large heat shrinks, and three small heat shrinks. The hollow braid is supplied with lead wire inside to maintain its shape during installation; the temporary lead wire is removed as part of the repair procedure.
The heating mat must be tested after the repair using a digital ohm or multimeter. Insulation testing should measure 1 million ohms to infinity between the metallic ground braid and each conductor. Resistance must measure within -5% to +10% of the factory resistance listed on the mat tag.
After the repaired wire is returned to the mat, a minimum 1" space must be maintained between heating wires and the wires cannot overlap. Nuheat requires mat testing before, during, and after installation to validate the warranty.

Yes. Insulation and resistance tests must be performed after completing the repair. Nuheat also requires heating mats to be tested before, during, and after installation to validate the warranty.
The reading between the metallic ground braid and each conductor should be 1 million ohms to infinity.
The resistance measurement should be within -5% to +10% of the factory resistance value listed on the heating mat tag.
No. Heating mat wires cannot overlap, and a minimum 1" space must be maintained between the wires when securing the repaired section back into the mat.
