Miracle Sealants Grout Shield 70 oz Grout Sealer Additive

Grout Shield is a liquid sealer additive mixed into compatible cement-based grout instead of ordinary mixing water. The protection is distributed throughout the grout as it is mixed, creating stain-resistant joints without waiting for the installed grout to cure before applying a separate grout sealer.

Grout Shield can be used with compatible cement-based sanded and non-sanded grout. Do not use it with epoxy grout, liquid or ready-to-use grout, grout that already claims stain resistance, latex additive, or any other additive. It is also not recommended where chemical resistance is required.

The 70 oz container is matched to one 25 lb bag of sanded cement-based grout. Other package combinations use different amounts, including 24 oz for a 7 lb box of sanded grout and 48 oz for a 10 lb bag of non-sanded grout, so select the container for the grout package.

Grout Shield replaces the primary mixing water, but the exact liquid requirement depends on the grout package and desired consistency. After the recommended additive amount has been used, the manufacturer allows clean, cool water to be added in increments of up to two ounces until the desired consistency is reached.

No additional sealer is needed for grout made with Grout Shield according to the manufacturer's specifications. If the tile or stone itself requires sealing, apply a compatible Miracle Sealants penetrating sealer before grouting and avoid coating the tile or stone edges, which could interfere with grout bonding.

Grout Shield adds compressive and tensile strength and helps produce consistent, durable grout with improved color quality by removing inconsistent tap water from the primary mix. The additive is suitable for both interior and exterior installations when used with a compatible cement-based grout.

Protect the finished installation from traffic and impact for at least 24 hours. Keep it away from water immersion or freezing for 10 days, or for the grout manufacturer's longer specified period. Wait at least 10 days before routine cleaning, use appropriate pH-neutral cleaners, and clean spills promptly.

The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original owner and covers the Grout Shield product when installed according to Miracle Sealants specifications, industry standards, and building codes. Store unopened product in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, never use frozen material, and wear safety glasses and chemical-resistant gloves while handling it.
