Product Information
The Alpha® Spike Disc is a diamond-clustered coating removal disc for removing thick epoxy, urethane, glue, and adhesive coatings. Multiple layers of high-quality diamond grits are vacuum-brazed into clustered diamond beads for fast material removal while maintaining cutting performance throughout the life of the disc.
The Spike Disc removes coatings from concrete without damaging the underlying surface like more aggressive PCD cup wheels can, reducing the need for a separate grinding step after coating removal. This makes it suited for restoration and surface preparation where the existing concrete needs to remain intact.
A unique open-mesh diamond layout allows removed material to clear the working surface, reducing clogging and the heat buildup that can burn metal surfaces. The sandwiched rubber-cushioned lightweight body also reduces noise and vibration during operation.
In addition to concrete floor coating removal, the Spike Disc can be used on steel, wood, Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP), and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). It is available in 4-1/2", 5", and 7" diameters with 35 or 50 grit and a 5/8"-11 threaded hub. The disc can also be combined with the Alpha Ecoguard G for a virtually dust-free solution.
