The HYDRO-BLOK® Low Profile Shower Pan is a waterproof, tile-ready shower base designed for center-drain showers, remodels, and tub-to-shower conversions. Its reduced profile supports flush and curbless shower layouts while eliminating the need to shape a traditional mortar-bed shower base.
The integrated drain system features a grout-over frame that adjusts to the finished tile thickness and moves laterally to coordinate with the tile layout. The grate can shift up to 1/2" in any direction from center, providing flexibility for final positioning while creating a clean transition around the drain.
A 100% waterproof XPS foam core keeps the shower pan lightweight and resistant to water absorption. Fiberglass mesh adds reinforcement, while the modified cement coating provides a tile-ready bonding surface for ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, glass, and mosaic finishes.

Yes. The pan has a 100% waterproof XPS foam core reinforced with fiberglass mesh and finished with a modified cement coating. This construction resists water absorption while providing a lightweight, durable shower base. Seams, edges, and connections must still be sealed as part of the complete waterproofing system.
The cement-coated surface accepts ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, glass, and mosaic finishes using appropriate setting materials. For tile measuring 2" × 2" or smaller, HYDRO-BLOK recommends a higher-compression grout, such as epoxy or urethane, to provide additional support over the shower pan.
The grout-over drain frame adjusts to match the finished tile thickness and can move laterally to coordinate with the tile layout. The grate position can shift up to 1/2" in any direction from center, providing flexibility for final alignment while retaining the pan's center-drain configuration.
Each Low Profile Shower Pan includes 2" mesh tape, straight and corner putty knives, a water-test plug, a pan template, and installation instructions. The pan also incorporates its Low Profile drain system. Additional sealant, fastening, plumbing, and finishing materials may be required for the complete installation.
The five models in this listing measure 36" × 36", 36" × 48", 36" × 60", 48" × 48", and 48" × 60". All five use a center-drain layout, so customers should select a shower base based on both the planned footprint and plumbing location.
The XPS core of the shower pan is waterproof, so a separate waterproof membrane is not required over the pan surface. However, seams, transitions, penetrations, and connections to other shower components must be sealed with approved HYDRO-BLOK materials according to the current installation instructions.
