It dissolves sanded grout haze, mortar residue, joint cement, and other construction soils, giving tile installers and restoration professionals a focused solution for post-installation cleanup that routine cleaners may not handle.
The concentrated acidic formula also breaks down efflorescence, rust, lime, hard-water deposits, and heavy dirt or grime. Approved surfaces include flamed or honed granite, tumbled or honed marble, cleft or honed slate, flamed or honed limestone, quarry tile, ceramic and unglazed ceramic tile, porcelain tile, sanded grout, cast stone, concrete, and masonry. All surfaces must be non-polished and able to tolerate acidic cleaning.
No. HDAC is formulated for textured, non-polished, acid-resistant materials. Acids and their vapors can etch, lighten, or alter tile, grout, cementitious materials, and natural stone, so polished or acid-sensitive surfaces should not be treated. Complete inconspicuous test patches before proceeding with any larger area.
Begin with one part HDAC to 10 parts water and reduce the water to as little as three parts when a stronger solution is required. Pre-wet the surface, work in small areas, agitate for one to five minutes, and never allow the cleaner to dry on the material.
After cleaning, extract all dirty solution with a wet vacuum and rinse thoroughly with clean water. The manufacturer then directs users to rinse with Tile & Stone Cleaner diluted 20 to 1 in clean water to remove remaining residue and neutralize the acid before the surface dries.
