HMK S234 Extra Stain Protection Stone Sealer

HMK S234 reduces the penetration of water, dirt, oil and grease into compatible stone surfaces. Its solvent-based silicone formula provides extra protection against oil and grease, helping limit absorption in installations where spills and everyday contamination may otherwise enter the material.

It is formulated for natural stone, artificial stone, agglomerates and terrazzo across all surface finishes, including polished stone. It may be used indoors or outdoors. Because absorption varies by material, test an inconspicuous area before treatment to confirm suitability, appearance, coverage and performance.

Treated surfaces remain vapor permeable and receive little to no aesthetic enhancement. As an impregnating sealer, HMK S234 works within the material rather than creating a deliberately visible finish, making it appropriate when customers want added stain resistance while largely preserving the stone’s existing appearance.

Clean the surface thoroughly with diluted HMK R155, flood rinse away the remaining cleaner and allow at least 24 hours of drying. Residual moisture should be no more than 2 to 4 percent. Switch off underfloor heating and allow the surface to cool to room temperature before treatment.

Apply HMK S234 evenly with a natural-bristle brush to a chemically clean, dry surface. Two saturating wet-on-wet applications are usually sufficient, although more absorbent stone may need additional product. Remove all excess before it dries; later applications can be made within 15 minutes, but waiting 24 hours better reveals saturation.

Avoid foot traffic for 2 to 4 hours and protect the surface from rain and humidity for 12 hours. Full resistance to oil and water develops over approximately 48 hours. The sealer is suitable indoors or outdoors and is food hygiene compliant once dry, but foodstuffs must be removed before treatment.

Coverage varies with the surface finish and absorption rate. A 0.25-liter container covers approximately 25 to 35 square feet, 1 liter covers 75 to 150 square feet, 5 liters covers 375 to 750 square feet, and 10 liters covers 750 to 1,500 square feet.
