Complete Waterproofing System for Custom Tiled Showers
wedi® S-DRY™ Shower Kits provide the primary components for constructing a waterproof custom tiled shower with a curb. Each kit combines a pre-sloped S-DRY Shower Base, waterproofing membrane, curb, seam treatment accessories, pipe and mixing valve seals, and preformed corners into one system for residential and commercial shower installations.
Pre-Sloped Shower Base with Integrated Point Drain
The high-density EPS foam shower base is pre-sloped and includes a factory-integrated, reinforced, and waterproofed drain using wedi® Fundo® Click and Seal® technology. The drain connects to 2" PVC, ABS, cast iron, or copper waste pipe and is designed to minimize interference with floor joists. Center and off-center drain configurations are available.
Cut-to-Fit Base for Custom Shower Layouts
The oversized S-DRY Shower Base can be trimmed with a utility knife and straight edge to fit the shower layout without creating cutting dust. Its lightweight, dense, insulating construction provides a durable tile-ready surface suitable for both small and large format tile and stone.
Sheet Waterproofing for Walls, Floors and Transitions
Each kit includes wedi® S-DRY™ Waterproof Membrane for shower walls and floors. The membrane can be installed over drywall, cement board, and other suitable existing wall panels within S-DRY systems and can extend beyond the shower to create a waterproof and mold-resistant transition into the surrounding bathroom.
Waterproof Seams and Shower Penetrations
Included S-DRY Tape, inside and outside corners, Mixing Valve Seal, and Shower Pipe Collar provide the components needed to address seams, transitions, corners, and common plumbing penetrations. Seams and overlaps are bonded and actively waterproofed using wedi® S-DRY™ SEAL, which is sold separately.
Fast Installation and 6-Hour Flood Test
The shower base is adhered to the subfloor with thinset mortar, while S-DRY Membrane is installed with wedi® PRO-SET™. After the S-DRY installation is completed, flood testing or tile installation can begin in as little as 6 hours.
