Product Information
The GURU® W-S Heavy Duty Linear Drain Shower Tray creates a strong, pre-sloped foundation for contemporary tiled showers. Two factory-formed drainage planes provide a consistent 2% slope toward a compatible off-center linear drain, eliminating the need to hand-form a traditional sloped mortar bed and helping deliver predictable drainage across the shower floor.
With more than 190 psi of compressive strength, the reinforced surface supports ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, and penny tile. This tileable shower pan accommodates tile of any size, while its lightweight construction makes the tray easier to carry, position, and trim for custom shower layouts.
A load-bearing WATER-STOP membrane is factory bonded to the shower pan and extends beyond its edges to connect with adjoining waterproofing components. The membrane passes ASTM D4068 waterproofness testing, has a 0.3 perm rating, and is IAPMO listed for dependable moisture protection in residential and commercial tiled showers.

Common Questions
The W-S Heavy Duty Shower Tray is designed for compatible off-center linear drain systems. Its two factory-formed sloped planes direct water toward the drain location. Select the tray, linear drain, and connector as a coordinated system and confirm compatibility before beginning the shower installation.
Each linear drain shower tray has two factory-formed planes with a consistent 2% slope toward the drain. Because the drainage pitch is built into the shower base, the installer does not need to form the shower floor slope by hand using a traditional mortar bed.
No traditional sloped mortar bed is required. The tile-ready shower base must still be fully supported and bonded to a clean, level, load-bearing substrate with compatible thin-set mortar. Connect the tray, waterproofing membrane, drain, and surrounding components according to the complete GURU installation instructions.
The reinforced surface supports ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, and penny tile. GURU states that the heavy-duty tray accepts tile of any size, including small-format mosaics. Use mortar that is compatible with the selected tile and WATER-STOP waterproofing assembly.
Yes. A load-bearing WATER-STOP waterproofing membrane is factory bonded to the shower pan and extends beyond its edges. The extended membrane connects with the adjoining wall and transition waterproofing, helping create continuous moisture protection across the finished shower floor assembly.
Yes. The tileable shower pan can be trimmed on-site to accommodate a custom shower layout. Plan cuts carefully so the factory-formed 2% slope, off-center drain position, edge support, and extended waterproofing membrane remain suitable for the finished shower system. Follow GURU’s cutting instructions.
Yes. Its heavy-duty construction, prefabricated slope, and waterproof surface make the shower tray suitable for residential and commercial tiled showers. It can be used for new construction or remodeling when the supporting substrate, drain components, waterproofing connections, and tile form a compatible system.
The WATER-STOP membrane is IAPMO listed under product file numbers 9205 and 9990, with ANSI A118.10 and IAPMO PS 106 included as normative references. Testing also reports passing results for waterproofness and resistance to fungus and mold growth.
