The factory-applied WATER-STOP membrane creates a watertight surface over the reinforced EPS curb. Connections between the curb and the surrounding shower floor and walls must still be properly sealed to maintain continuous waterproofing. Any cuts or penetrations also require treatment according to the current GURU installation instructions.
Bond the curb to an appropriate substrate with approved modified thin-set mortar meeting ANSI A118.4, A118.11, or A118.15 as applicable. Only EPS-compatible adhesives or thin-set products should contact the foam because certain solvents can damage EPS. Follow the mortar manufacturer and GURU requirements for the complete assembly.
The W-S Tile Shower Curb is designed for interior residential and light commercial shower installations. It is not intended as an exposed exterior product, and the membrane should not remain directly exposed to sun or weather for more than five days.
