Product Information
Alpha® Wet Diamond Core Bits provide fast, clean coring in granite, engineered stone, porcelain slab, marble, limestone, concrete, ceramic tile, and gypsum. Direct-sintered metal segments are brazed to the steel core for aggressive drilling and long service life, while vacuum-brazed diamond grit along the sides helps protect the core from undercut during free-hand drilling.
These core drill bits are designed for faucet-mounting holes in countertops and vanities, as well as rounded corners for square and rectangular sink cutouts. They can also create penetrations for water, gas, and electrical piping through installed stone, concrete, and ceramic tile.
Each coring bit uses a 5/8"-11 thread and fits compatible central water-feed polishing tools, including the Alpha AIR-680, AWP-158, and VSP-320. The bits can also be used with a drill press equipped with a water swivel. Seven diameters are available from 3/4" through 2-1/2", with a maximum operating speed of 3,500 RPM.
Alpha Wet Diamond Core Bits must be used with a central water-feed tool or water swivel to keep the diamond segments properly cooled. For free-hand drilling, Alpha recommends securing a template over the workpiece and clamping scrap stone beneath it to guide the bit and reduce excessive chipping as it exits the backside.

Common Questions
They are designed for granite, engineered stone, porcelain slab, marble, limestone, concrete, ceramic tile, and gypsum.
Yes. These diamond core bits are designed exclusively for wet drilling. Water keeps the diamond segments cool and helps prevent glazing and loss of cutting performance.
Common applications include drilling faucet holes in countertops and vanities, creating rounded sink-cutout corners, and making penetrations for water, gas, and electrical piping.
The currently listed models are available in 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 2", and 2-1/2" diameters.
The 5/8"-11 core bits fit compatible central water-feed polishers, including the Alpha AIR-680, AWP-158, and VSP-320. They can also be used with a drill press equipped with a water swivel.
Yes. They can be used free-hand with a compatible central water-feed tool. Alpha recommends securing a template over the workpiece to guide the bit and improve drilling stability.
Clamp a scrap piece of stone beneath the workpiece before drilling. The scrap supports the material as the core bit exits and helps reduce excessive backside chipping.
All currently listed Alpha Wet Diamond Core Bits have a maximum operating speed of 3,500 RPM.
The core bits are 4" long and can drill through material up to approximately 4" thick when new.
