Product Information
Alpha® Vextra Flat Grinding Discs are aggressive diamond grinder discs for steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. Their optimized diamond grit and layer arrangement provides consistent grinding performance and long service life, while the flat grinding design maximizes surface coverage for efficient material removal.
Vextra removes rust, burrs, mill scale, and paint from metal surfaces without quickly clogging the grinding face. The disc also removes epoxy, glue, and adhesives, making it useful for surface preparation and coating removal applications where conventional grinder wheels may require frequent replacement.
A rubber sandwich construction reduces disc weight, vibration, and operating noise while maintaining aggressive grinding performance. This design helps reduce operator fatigue and limits downtime associated with frequently replacing conventional abrasive discs.
Vextra Flat Grinding Discs are available in 4-1/2", 5", and 7" diameters with 35, 50, and 80 grit options. Depending on the selected model, discs have either a 7/8" arbor or a 5/8"-11 zinc hub. In addition to metal, Vextra can grind natural stone, engineered stone and quartz surfaces, wood, and rubber.

Common Questions
Vextra is designed for steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. It can also grind natural stone, engineered stone and quartz surfaces, wood, and rubber.
The disc removes rust, burrs, mill scale, paint, epoxy, glue, and adhesives. Its grinding face is designed to resist clogging during material and coating removal.
Vextra discs are available in 4-1/2", 5", and 7" diameters. Depending on the selected size and grit, models are offered with a 7/8" arbor or a 5/8"-11 zinc hub.
The Vextra Flat Disc is available in 35, 50, and 80 grit. Available grit and arbor combinations vary by disc diameter.
The 4-1/2" discs are rated for a maximum of 13,200 RPM, the 5" discs for 12,200 RPM, and the 7" discs for 8,400 RPM.
The disc uses a rubber sandwich construction that reduces weight, vibration, and operating noise while helping limit operator fatigue.
Yes. Vextra is specifically designed for flat grinding, which maximizes grinder wheel coverage for improved productivity and surface preparation efficiency.
No. Alpha describes Vextra as a grinding disc for applications where spark reduction is a priority, but it should not be considered spark-free. Follow all site-specific requirements for metal grinding and Ex Zone work.
