Product Information
GATOR® SmoothCut™ Turbo Rim Diamond Blades are designed for fast, general-purpose cutting of brick, block, stone, paving slabs, concrete roof tile, and ceramic materials. Their turbo rim profile combines efficient material removal with smoother edge performance than an open segmented blade.
The serrated turbo profile runs continuously around the blade without the open gaps found on segmented rims. This design maintains steady contact with the material while clearing debris from the cut, helping increase cutting speed and reduce chipping on compatible masonry and ceramic materials.
Diamond particles are fused to the blade’s cutting edge for smooth, consistent cutting and extended service life. The diamond cutting surface maintains dependable performance through common masonry, roof tile, and ceramic cutting work.
SmoothCut Diamond Blades are available in 4", 4-1/2", and 7" diameters for compatible angle grinders, circular saws, diamond saws, and tile saws. Each size has specific arbor and operating-speed requirements for matching the blade to the cutting equipment.
Common Questions
SmoothCut blades are intended for medium-hard masonry and compatible tile materials, including brick, concrete block, stone, paving slabs, concrete roof tile, and ceramic. They are not specified for porcelain, glass, metal, or reinforced concrete. Choose a material-specific blade when the project falls outside these listed applications.
SmoothCut uses a continuous turbo rim with a serrated cutting profile and no open gaps between sections. It clears material more aggressively than a plain continuous rim while maintaining more edge contact than a segmented rim. This balances faster cutting with reduced chipping on compatible materials.
Yes. All three listed SmoothCut blade sizes support wet or dry cutting. Wet cutting helps cool the blade and control airborne dust, while dry cutting provides flexibility where water is impractical. Follow the tool instructions and use appropriate dust controls and personal protective equipment.
This listing includes a 4" blade under part 389875, a 4-1/2" blade under part 389878, and a 7" blade under part 389881. Select the diameter based on the saw’s approved blade capacity, arbor compatibility, guard clearance, and maximum operating speed.
Available arbor configurations include 5/8", 7/8", and 20 mm, depending on the selected diameter. Maximum speeds are 15,500 RPM for the 4" blade, 13,300 RPM for the 4-1/2" blade, and 8,500 RPM for the 7" blade. Confirm all specifications before installation.
Depending on blade diameter and arbor configuration, SmoothCut blades fit compatible angle grinders, circular saws, diamond saws, and tile saws. The tool must accept the selected diameter and arbor, provide adequate guard clearance, and operate at or below the maximum RPM marked on the blade.
FastCut segmented blades prioritize aggressive masonry cutting and debris removal. PreciseCut continuous-rim blades prioritize smooth finished edges on tile and stone. SmoothCut turbo blades balance faster material removal with reduced chipping, making them a middle option for compatible masonry, roof tile, stone, and ceramic materials.
