Product Information
Alpha® Ultracut APR Series Flush Cutting Blades are high-performance vacuum-brazed diamond blades for cutting close to floors, walls, and other surrounding surfaces. When paired with the appropriate Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter, the blade mounts on a compatible angle grinder without a conventional lock nut, providing the clearance needed for accurate flush cutting.
The APR Series provides a practical solution for removing anchor bolts, concrete rebar, pipe, and other protruding materials from floors and walls. Its specialized design supports controlled flush cuts in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, renovation, demolition, and jobsite applications.
Each flush cut blade can cut angle iron, pipe, electrical conduit, rebar, metal studs, structural metal, sheet metal, grid, stainless steel, wood, plastic, composite materials, masonry, and concrete. This broad material range reduces blade changes when a project involves several construction and fabrication materials.
APR Series blades use a 20mm Quad Drive arbor and require a compatible Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter for angle-grinder mounting. The threaded adapter eliminates the conventional lock nut used with standard grinder blades. Blade diameters include 4-1/2", 5", and 7" for different cutting depths and tool configurations.

Common Questions
The APR Series is designed for flush cutting applications where material must be cut close to a floor, wall, or surrounding surface. Common uses include removing anchor bolts, concrete rebar, and pipe.
The blades cut angle iron, pipe, electrical conduit, rebar, metal studs, structural metal, sheet metal, grid, stainless steel, wood, plastic, composite materials, masonry, and concrete.
Each blade has a 20mm Quad Drive arbor and requires a compatible Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter. An appropriate adapter allows the blade to mount on an angle grinder with a 5/8"-11 spindle. Alpha also offers a comparable adapter for M14-2 grinders.
No. The Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter uses a threaded arbor and eliminates the conventional lock nut, allowing the blade to cut closer to the surrounding surface.
The 4-1/2" APR45QA is rated for a maximum of 13,200 RPM, the 5" APR05QA for 12,200 RPM, and the 7" APR07QA for 8,400 RPM.
Yes. Alpha states that water can reduce dust and improve blade performance and service life. Use water only with equipment and electrical protection approved for wet cutting.
No. Alpha recommends a sintered metal-bond diamond blade instead of the vacuum-brazed APR Series for granite and porcelain. If these materials must be cut with the APR blade, Alpha recommends using water to cool the cutting edge.
No. The APR Series is designed for flush cutting and is not intended for grinding. The diamond layer beneath the steel core protects against undercutting and is not a grinding surface.
