Product Information
Zinsser® B-I-N® Shellac-Base Primer is a primer-sealer, stain blocker, and bond coat for difficult interior surfaces and persistent stains. It blocks water, smoke, nicotine, grease, rust, ink, crayon, marker, knots, sap streaks, tannin bleed, and other stains while sealing odors caused by smoke, fire, water damage, tobacco, and animals.
B-I-N adheres to drywall, plaster, wood, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized metal, vinyl, PVC, fiberglass, masonry, ceramic tile, glass, plastic, and other paintable surfaces. The liquid formula provides excellent adhesion to glossy surfaces without scuff sanding and seals porous surfaces to improve topcoat coverage.
The liquid primer dries quickly and can be recoated in 45 minutes. Its high-hiding shellac formula seals porous surfaces, bleeding knots, sap streaks, and stubborn stains so they do not bleed through the finish coat. Very porous surfaces or severe stains may require a second coat.
The quart liquid primer is suited for walls, ceilings, doors, trim, cabinets, furniture, and similar surfaces, with exterior use limited to spot priming. The 13 oz. aerosol is intended for interior spot priming and smaller projects such as furniture, trim, crafts, wicker, louvers, knots, and repaired areas.
