Water-Based Penetrating Protection for Stone and Masonry
HMK® S232 Stain Protection is a solvent-free, water-based impregnating sealer that helps reduce the penetration of oil, water, grease, and dirt into natural and artificial stone surfaces. The environmentally friendly formula is suitable for interior and exterior applications while allowing treated surfaces to remain vapor permeable without changing their natural appearance.
Compatible with Natural Stone, Concrete, and Unglazed Surfaces
S232 is suitable for soft and hard natural stone, engineered stone, agglomerates, concrete, terracotta, brick pavers, clay surfaces, and unglazed tile. It is especially effective on highly absorbent honed and textured surfaces where deep penetrating protection is required.
Application and Surface Preparation
For best results, surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned with HMK® R155 Intensive Cleaner, followed by a flood rinse to remove cleaner residue. Allow the surface to dry completely before sealing, with a maximum residual moisture content of 4–6%. On new installations, additional curing time may be required before application to ensure moisture from setting materials does not interfere with penetration.
Suitable for Occupied Buildings
The solvent-free, odorless formulation allows buildings to remain occupied during application. If underfloor heating is installed, it should be turned off and the surface allowed to cool to room temperature before treatment.
