wedi® Sealant 620 is a flexible, vapor-tight joint sealant designed for use within wedi waterproofing and steam shower systems. It is used in combination with waterproofing band and sealing tape to seal seams, overlaps, and change-of-plane areas in wedi® Subliner Dry Sheet waterproofing and wedi® Vapor 85 assemblies.
Compared to wedi® Joint Sealant, Sealant 620 has a thinner viscosity and darker color, allowing it to penetrate fabric membranes more effectively. This formulation supports vapor-tight performance in steam shower applications when used as part of the complete wedi system.
Key Features
- Vapor-Tight Sealant: Designed to support vapor control in steam shower assemblies.
- System-Specific Formulation: Engineered for compatibility with wedi® Vapor 85 Building Panels and Subliner Dry membranes.
- Waterproofing Band & Sealing Tape Integration: Used to embed and waterproof banding and sealing tape over seams, overlaps, and transitions.
- Membrane Penetration: Thinner viscosity allows the sealant to sink into fabric membranes for improved bonding.
- Joint Sealant for System Detailing: Functions as a joint sealant used with banding, inside and outside corners, and patch components within wedi waterproofing systems.
System Compatibility
- wedi® Vapor 85 Building Panels
- wedi® Subliner Dry Sheet Waterproofing
- wedi® Waterproof Sealing Tape
- wedi® Inside and Outside Sealing Corners
- wedi® Vapor 85 Patch Kit for fastener locations
- wedi® Subliner Dry seam and overlap assemblies
Installation Notes
- Used between assembly components and beneath sealing tape.
- One 2.5 oz cartridge covers approximately one linear foot of sealing tape or overlap seam in Vapor 85 or Subliner Dry assemblies.
- Thinset mortar is also required as part of Subliner Dry installations.
- Refer to official wedi installation instructions for complete system requirements.
wedi® Sealant 620 functions as a joint sealant used with waterproofing band, sealing tape, corners, and patch components to support vapor-tight detailing in wedi® Vapor 85 and Subliner Dry assemblies.
