The SunTouch® TapeMat® Electric Floor Heating Mat is a radiant heat mat system designed for installation beneath tile and stone flooring. It uses a series resistance heating cable assembly embedded within an open-weave mesh to provide consistent floor warming while maintaining a low-profile installation height.
Designed for installation over plywood, backer board, or concrete slab substrates according to ANSI and TCNA guidelines, the TapeMat system installs beneath self-leveling mortar or polymer-modified thin-set mortar. The peel-and-stick backing and flexible open-weave design support fast installation while allowing adjustments around curves, angles, and cut-outs.
The TapeMat system delivers 12 watts per square foot of radiant floor heating with 3" wire spacing for even heat distribution beneath finished flooring surfaces. Compatible with tile, stone, hardwood, and carpet installations, the system can be embedded in self-leveling mortar or polymer-modified thin-set applications over approved wood or concrete substrates.
TapeMat adds only 1/8" of floor height in most installations while helping maintain comfortable floor temperatures in residential and commercial spaces. A patented helical twist wire design helps minimize electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation during operation. The system is designed for use with a SunStat® floor sensing thermostat, sold separately.
