Works great, wears out very fast

I used this to polish the edges of marble tiles I installed in my basement wet bar. One thing I didn't understand was this is just the pads, not the quick-change backer to mount to the angle grinder like the picture shows. And secondly, the pads wear down rapidly. I used a coarse pad then a fine one to smooth the edges and in about 18 feet of counter edge the pads were gone for the bar. The back counter I used the coarsest and a finer pad and they didn't wear nearly as quickly but I was also a little lighter there.
