Product Information
Zinsser® Odor Killing Primer is a low-odor, water-based primer that permanently seals existing odors from pets, urine, food, cigarette and cigar smoke, fire, and smoke damage. It applies white for application visibility and dries to a clear, low-sheen finish.
The primer can be used on interior wood floors, cabinets, walls, ceilings, drywall, cured plaster, masonry, metal, and PVC. It also adheres to glossy surfaces including enamel paint, varnish, paneling, laminates, galvanized metal, glass, and ceramic tile without sanding or deglossing.
Odor Killing Primer can be topcoated with water-based or oil-based paints and clear finishes. When used on floors that will be covered with carpet, tile, or laminate-type flooring, a topcoat is not required. The flexible, resilient finish accommodates the natural movement of flooring materials.
The primer dries in 45 minutes and seals odors already present on the treated surface. It is not a disinfectant or sanitizer and does not prevent odors introduced after application. It is not recommended for exterior use, excessively humid interiors, immersion, or prolonged water exposure.
