Warmup® In-Slab Cable is an electric heating cable designed for embedding in concrete foundations to provide primary heating and thermal storage. The system heats the concrete mass so stored heat can be released over an extended period, making it particularly useful for buildings using solar power or time-of-use electricity rates.

Residential and Commercial Applications

The WODH cable can be installed in dirt or sand beds or secured to lightweight mesh before the concrete foundation is poured. Applications include residential basement heating, commercial slab heating, and frost heave protection for slabs exposed to cold temperatures.

Twin-Conductor Cable with One-Point Connection

The twin-conductor design eliminates the need to return the cable to the connection point and is constructed to cancel electromagnetic field interference. Each cable includes a factory-attached 16 ft. cold lead for connection outside the heated area.

Adjustable Heat Output Through Cable Spacing

Heating output can be adjusted by changing the spacing between cable runs to meet project requirements. Closer spacing provides greater heat output for primary in-slab heating, while wider spacing can be used for lower-output applications such as frost heave protection. Cable runs must be spaced at least 3" apart.

System Sizing Based on Building Heat Loss

In-slab heating systems should be sized according to the building's calculated heat loss and intended charging period. Installed cable capacity must exceed the building heat loss when the system operates for only part of the day, making proper system design important for thermal storage applications.
