Product Information
SunTouch® WarmWire® HeatMatrix® is a polypropylene uncoupling membrane designed to simplify the installation of WarmWire electric floor heating cables beneath tile. Raised shapes secure the heating cable at approximately 3" increments while allowing spacing to be adjusted for different heating requirements.
A non-woven fleece layer on the underside of the membrane helps reduce shear stress caused by lateral and multi-directional substrate movement, minimizing stress transferred to the tile installation. HeatMatrix meets ANSI A118.12 requirements for substrate crack isolation, uncoupling, point load, and mold resistance.
HeatMatrix provides a barrier against surface water while channels beneath the membrane allow moisture and vapor pressure to dissipate. This vapor management makes the membrane suitable for below-grade installations over concrete. In areas exposed to surface water, membrane joints should be sealed with HeatMatrix joint strip.
WarmWire can be installed at the standard spacing of approximately 3" or adjusted to change heat output. Cable spacing can alternate between 2 and 3 raised shapes for higher heat output or between 3 and 4 shapes for lower output, providing flexibility based on the heating requirements of the installation.
