Product Information
SunTouch® TapeMat® is an electric floor heating mat designed for installation over plywood, backer board, or concrete slab. The heating cable is pre-spaced at 3" on center to provide 12 watts per square foot and is secured with double-sided tape along both edges of the mat.
TapeMat is embedded in a minimum 3/8" layer of polymer-modified thinset, self-leveling concrete, or an approved setting bed according to the installation. It can be installed over backer board or approved mortar beds on wood subfloors and concrete slabs.
The system supports tile and stone, carpet, and hardwood floor coverings when installed according to applicable requirements. Available 2' and 3' mat widths provide multiple coverage options for fitting electric floor heating into different room layouts.
TapeMat is available in 120V and 240V configurations with sizes ranging from 10 to 160 sq. ft. depending on voltage and mat width. The system draws approximately 1 amp per 10 sq. ft. at 120V or 1 amp per 20 sq. ft. at 240V.
The heating elements use oxygen-free copper or nickel-copper conductors with ETFE fluoropolymer insulation and a copper ground. Each mat includes a 10' power lead and has a minimum allowable bend radius of 1".
Common Questions
TapeMat is an electric floor heating system installed beneath finished flooring to provide radiant floor heat.
TapeMat can be installed over approved backer board or setting beds over wood subfloors, as well as polymer-modified setting beds or self-leveling concrete over concrete slabs.
The heating mat is embedded in a minimum 3/8" layer of polymer-modified thinset, self-leveling concrete, or another approved setting bed according to the installation assembly.
Approved floor coverings include tile and stone, carpet, and hardwood when installed according to the applicable installation requirements.
TapeMat provides a watt density of 12 watts per square foot with the heating wire spaced 3" on center.
Both voltage options provide the same 12 W/sq. ft. watt density. The 120V mats draw approximately 1 amp per 10 sq. ft., while 240V mats draw approximately 1 amp per 20 sq. ft.
The maximum circuit load is 20 amps, or 15 amps when the system is operated with a SunStat control.
Each TapeMat has a 10' power lead.
