Exterior Wood Protection Against Rot and Decay
Rust-Oleum® Woodlife® Classic Clear Wood Preservative is a water-based fungicidal preservative for above-ground exterior wood. It inhibits mold, mildew, and staining fungus growth on the wood surface to help protect untreated and pressure-treated lumber against rot and decay while allowing the natural wood color to show through.
Water Repellency and Moisture Protection
The water-repellent formula resists moisture absorption through wood surfaces, sides, and end cuts. Its anti-wicking properties help reduce moisture-related swelling, shrinking, warping, splitting, and end-checking on exterior wood exposed to weather and rain.
Untreated and Pressure-Treated Wood Applications
Woodlife Classic can be used on all species of untreated or pressure-treated lumber, plywood, and engineered wood in above-ground applications. Suitable projects include decks, porches, fencing, siding, outdoor furniture, gazebos, arbors, storage sheds, play equipment, windows, doors, trim, millwork, shake shingles, clapboard, and log siding.
Preservative Primer Before Paint or Stain
The clear formula can be applied immediately to new wood without waiting for it to weather or season. It can be painted or stained after 24 hours and helps extend topcoat service life by reducing moisture absorption that can contribute to peeling and blistering.
