Product Information
RUBI SPEED-MAGNET Tile Cutters are lightweight professional score-and-snap tools built for frequent work with ceramic wall tile, glazed stoneware, and porcelain tile. Three cutting capacities help remodelers match the machine to common residential formats, while the reinforced aluminum construction balances jobsite portability with the rigidity needed for accurate daily cutting.
SPEED-MAGNET Manual Tile Cutters use the MAGNET system to hold the multipoint breaker clear while the tile is scored and engage it when the material is ready to separate. This one-handed transition leaves the other hand available to stabilize the tile, while up to 1,764 lbs. of breaking force supports controlled separation.
RUBI SPEED-MAGNET Manual Cutters combine solid 20 mm chromed, ground, and calibrated steel guides with anticorrosion protection. The dual-guide layout keeps the scoring line visible, while reinforced aluminum supports and a cast aluminum base provide the stability needed to guide the scoring wheel accurately across the tile.
An aluminum lateral stop provides a consistent reference for repetitive straight cuts and 45° layouts, reducing the need to measure every matching piece again. Lateral base extensions provide additional support beneath larger tile, helping the material remain stable during positioning, scoring, and breaking.
Each model includes a 5/16" scoring wheel and accepts compatible RUBI scoring wheels from 1/4" to 7/8". This interchangeable system allows contractors to select a wheel suited to different ceramic materials, surface textures, and cutting demands while continuing to use the same cutter.
Common Questions
The series is designed for frequent cutting of ceramic wall tile, glazed stoneware, and porcelain tile. All current models accommodate material from 1/8" to 5/8" thick. Select a compatible RUBI scoring wheel for the specific material and surface before beginning repetitive work.
The SPEED-62 MAGNET cuts 24 3/8" straight and 17 3/8" x 17 3/8" diagonally. The SPEED-72 MAGNET reaches 28 3/8" and 20 1/8" x 20 1/8", while the SPEED-92 MAGNET reaches 36 1/4" and 25 5/8" x 25 5/8". All share the same thickness range and breaking force.
The MAGNET mechanism holds the multipoint breaker clear during scoring and engages it from the operating handle when the tile is ready to separate. This lets the operator manage scoring and breaking with one hand while using the other to stabilize or reposition the tile.
Each model supplies up to 1,763.68 lbs. of breaking force, commonly rounded to 1,764 lbs. The multipoint breaker can be positioned along the score, allowing separation pressure to be applied where needed after the tile has been scored.
The cutters use solid 20 mm chromed, ground, and calibrated steel guides with anticorrosion treatment. Reinforced aluminum guide supports and a lightweight cast aluminum base add rigidity, while lateral extensions provide additional support when larger tile pieces extend beyond the main cutting surface.
Yes. The aluminum lateral stop provides a repeatable positioning reference for straight cuts and 45° layouts. This helps installers maintain matching dimensions across multiple pieces, while the lateral base extensions provide added support for larger tile during measuring, scoring, and breaking.
Each cutter includes a 5/16" (8 mm) scoring wheel. RUBI also lists compatible scoring wheels from 1/4" (6 mm) through 7/8" (22 mm), giving installers options for different ceramic materials, surface textures, and cutting demands within the machine's stated capabilities.
The SPEED-62 MAGNET is available in configurations with or without a carrying case. The current SPEED-72 MAGNET and SPEED-92 MAGNET configurations are listed with carrying cases. Confirm the selected model and package configuration before ordering so the included transport equipment matches your needs.
