Product Information
HMK® R161 Porcelain Tile Intensive Cleaner is a concentrated alkaline cleaner that removes construction dirt, wax finishes, soot, grease, and oil from porcelain tile. It provides targeted cleaning for initial installation cleanup and periodic deep maintenance.
This tile cleaner is formulated for polished, honed, and textured porcelain installed indoors or outdoors. HMK R161 is designed exclusively for porcelain tile and should not be used as a general stone cleaner on other surface materials.
HMK R161 is recommended for initial cleaning before applying HMK® S243 Porcelain Tile Impregnator. It removes oils, waxes, and other contaminants to leave the porcelain surface properly cleaned for sealing. The formula can also be used for periodic maintenance cleaning.
Depending on the cleaning task, HMK R161 can be applied full strength or diluted from 1:3 to 1:5. Thoroughly pre-wet the area before application, keep the cleaner wet while scrubbing, and rinse twice immediately after cleaning. Avoid contact with metal because the fumes may cause etching. For cement or grout residue, use HMK® R163 Concrete Film Remover instead.
