Product Information
The GoBoard® Dakar™ Shower Drain Grate and Riser is a fully assembled designer drain component for GoBoard shower systems. Its 4" square grate features a cross-hatch pattern and is available in Brass, Brushed Nickel, Brushed Stainless Steel, Matte Black, and Chrome finishes.
The low-profile design helps minimize shower curb height and supports both standard and zero-entry shower configurations. Its adjustable riser can be positioned to match the finished tile height, while the square format allows straight tile cuts around the drain opening.
An integrated 11" × 11" waterproofing membrane connects the drain riser assembly with the surrounding GoBoard shower system. The Dakar assembly fits into the fins of a GoBoard Point Drain Body, which is required for installation and sold separately.
Common Questions
The product includes a fully assembled 4" × 4" drain riser, removable Dakar cross-hatch grate, 6.5" × 6.5" clamping collar, and integrated 11" × 11" waterproofing membrane. The GoBoard Point Drain Body and other shower system components are not included.
No. The Dakar product is the designer riser-and-grate assembly with an integrated waterproofing membrane. It is designed to fit into a separately purchased GoBoard Point Drain Body. The complete GoBoard Point Drain Kit is the product that includes the 2" PVC drain body.
The Dakar Drain Riser and Grate is designed to fit into the radial fins of the GoBoard Point Drain Body. That drain body connects to a 2" Schedule 40 PVC waste pipe and must be installed as part of the complete GoBoard shower drainage system.
Yes. The Dakar assembly has a low-profile design that helps minimize curb height and supports zero-entry or curbless shower configurations. Curbless performance depends on the complete GoBoard shower system, proper drain placement, and installation according to the current GoBoard instructions.
Yes. The friction-fit drain riser can be raised, lowered, removed, and repositioned while the tile is being installed. Its final height should align with the surface of the finished shower floor tile while allowing the grate to remain removable for cleaning and maintenance.
The square drain grate and riser each measure 4" × 4". The clamping collar measures 6.5" × 6.5", and the integrated waterproofing membrane measures 11" × 11". These dimensions apply to the Dakar riser-and-grate assembly rather than the separately purchased drain body.
The cross-hatch Dakar shower drain grate is available in Brass, Brushed Nickel, Brushed Stainless Steel, Matte Black, and Chrome. These options allow the visible drain finish to coordinate with shower fixtures, profiles, and other decorative bathroom hardware.
The Dakar drain documentation lists compliance with IAPMO PS 106 for tileable shower receptors and shower kits and ASME A112.18.2/CSA B125.2. The complete drain system must still be selected and installed according to applicable plumbing codes and GoBoard instructions.
