Blanke AQUA SHIELD Membrane for Wet Areas
Blanke AQUA SHIELD is a thin, flexible waterproofing membrane and vapor barrier for ceramic tile and stone. Its high tensile strength helps protect showers, bathrooms, steam rooms, saunas, locker rooms, and other continuous wet areas from moisture penetration.
Thinset-Bonded Sheet with No Waiting to Tile
Polyethylene film with fleece bonded to both sides anchors the membrane into thinset mortar. Unlike liquid-applied waterproofing, the sheet requires no membrane cure time before tile installation and maintains a consistent waterproofing thickness across the surface.
Crack Isolation for Interior and Exterior Applications
The membrane adds crack isolation and uncoupling beneath tiled surfaces and can be used on approved interior and exterior substrates. Exterior applications include decks, patios, balconies, and terraces that are not located over occupied space.

How soon can tile be installed over AQUA SHIELD?
Tile can be installed immediately after the membrane is properly bonded because the sheet does not require the cure time associated with liquid-applied waterproofing. Follow the thinset mortar manufacturer's requirements when setting the tile.
Which substrates are compatible with AQUA SHIELD?
