Product Information
The Alpha® PVA-5/8 Snail Lock Adapter is a 4" aluminum backer plate for the PVA QC polishing system. Its 5/8"-11 thread connects to a compatible low-speed polishing tool, while the snail-lock side accepts Alpha PVA QC discs.
Each PVA QC disc fits into the adapter and locks in place with a twisting motion. The operator can untwist the installed disc and replace it with the next grit while leaving the reusable backer plate attached to the polishing tool.
The adapter has a maximum operating speed of 4,000 RPM and must be used with a low-speed polisher or variable-speed tool that can operate within that limit. Alpha developed the system for tools such as the AWP-158 and AIR-680, and it can fit other compatible polishers with a 5/8"-11 connection.
When fitted with the appropriate PVA QC discs, the quick change system can polish glass tile, marble, limestone, travertine, and stainless steel. It is also suited for baseboard, corner, and countertop edge work. PVA QC discs are intended for dry polishing only.
