The Alpha® Ecoguard CD is a wet/dry dust collection cover for drilling and core drilling with bits up to 2-1/2" in diameter. When connected to a suitable dust extractor, the shroud contains dust or water around the drilling point to help keep the surrounding work area cleaner.
Vacuum-Secured Horizontal and Vertical Use
Vacuum suction holds the drilling cover against horizontal or vertical surfaces during use. This keeps the shroud positioned around the drilling area while the connected vacuum collects dust, debris, or water generated by the core bit.
Dust Extraction and Water Containment
The Ecoguard CD fits most vacuum dust hoses for straightforward integration with common dust-extraction systems. During wet drilling, it provides localized water containment and helps prevent splashing. The cover cannot be used as a water reservoir because vacuum openings are located along its bottom edge.
Drilling Cover, Not a Core Bit Guide
The Ecoguard CD is designed to collect drilling debris and water, not guide the core bit. Alpha warns that using it as a drilling guide may allow the bit's side-protection segments to grind against and damage the rubber cover.
