The selected diamonds and matrix help protect the material where the bit exits.
A 1/2" Gas thread fits compatible CNC and radial arm tool holders.
Choose a 1-1/4" or 1-3/8" core bit for the required finished hole size.
Published speed and traverse settings help establish a consistent machine setup.
Product Information
Alpha CNC Core Bits are wet drilling tools developed for porcelain, sintered slabs, Dekton®, Neolith®, crystallized glass, and other vitreous materials. They give fabrication professionals a purpose-built option for producing holes with CNC machines and radial arm workstations.
The diamonds and matrix are selected to minimize blow-out where the bit exits the material. This is especially valuable during upside-down CNC router fabrication, where protecting the bottom edge of the hole helps produce a cleaner finished result.
Each Alpha CNC Bit uses a 1/2" Gas thread designed for compatible tool holders. Available 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" diameters accommodate two common hole sizes while sharing the same material recommendations, maximum operating speed, and published traverse parameters.
Common Questions
Alpha recommends these bits for porcelain and sintered slabs, including Dekton® and Neolith®, as well as crystallized glass and other vitreous materials. The material should be compatible with wet CNC core drilling and the selected machine, tool holder, speed, and traverse settings.
The bits are designed for CNC machines and radial arm workstations equipped with a compatible tool holder and wet-drilling system. They are not presented as hand-drill or angle-grinder bits. Confirm that the machine accepts the required 1/2" Gas thread before ordering.
No. Alpha identifies these products as wet core drill bits for CNC machines and radial arm workstations. They should be operated with the machine's appropriate water supply to support their intended cutting performance on hard porcelain, sintered slabs, and other vitreous materials.
Both available sizes use a 1/2" Gas thread designed for attachment to a compatible CNC or radial arm tool holder. Verify the tool-holder specification before ordering because compatibility depends on the machine accepting this exact thread connection.
The DND01250 has a 1-1/4" diameter, while the DND01375 has a 1-3/8" diameter. Both variants have a 1/2" Gas thread and 4,000 RPM maximum. Select the size that matches the required finished hole diameter and compatible tool holder.
Alpha selects the diamond formulation and matrix to minimize blow-out at the bottom of the material. This is especially relevant because much CNC router fabrication is performed upside down, making the exit side of the hole an important consideration for finished-edge quality.
For 3/4" (2 cm) material, Alpha lists 4,000 RPM, a traverse speed of 1-1/4" (30 mm) per minute, and a traverse exit speed of 5/8" (15 mm) per minute. These published parameters apply to both available core-bit diameters.
Alpha also lists crystallized glass and other vitreous materials, but the product is centered on porcelain and sintered slab fabrication. Compatibility with materials outside the manufacturer's recommendations should not be assumed. Confirm suitability before drilling any unlisted surface.
