wedi S-DRY BFD (Bonding Flange Drain) is designed for use with wedi S-DRY™ shower system components in mortar bed shower installations. It provides a reliable connection point between the waterproofing membrane and the drain system, supporting consistent drainage and system performance.
The bonding flange features a fleece-covered surface that allows direct integration with wedi S-DRY™ waterproofing materials. This helps create a continuous seal between the drain and surrounding membrane, supporting proper waterproofing across the entire shower assembly.
The pressure-fit connection allows the drain to attach directly to ABS or PVC pipe that has been cut flush with the subfloor. This simplifies installation while ensuring a secure connection. The drain is designed to sit approximately 3/4 inch above the floor, with the option to increase height using mortar for proper alignment with the finished shower floor.
Drain covers are selected separately, allowing flexibility in choosing the final appearance to match the overall shower design.
