Hello to You
Best Stripper for Maple Cabinets covered with Polyurethane Finish

I tried other product and found the Blue Bear 605 Pro to be the best at taking off the polyurethane finish from my maple wood kitchen cabinets. Other products failed to lift the polyurethane finish as well as Blue Bear or left the wood surface mottled. The mottling would have to be sanded off. Also, this product appears to be less toxic than some of the other products presently available on the market. Regarding safety concerns, the bottle of the Blue Bear 605 Pro only mentions that the user of the product should keep it away from plants.

Worked perfectly

Stripped an old Ethan Allen furniture piece that had the standard nutmeg stain and varnish finish. Only one coat was needed. Clear coat and stain came off easily. Cleaned up with soapy water. Sanded after dry.I found out later, they sell Safenol Paint and Urethane stripper at Ace for $17. It's made with the same chemicals. Just did a comparison test between 605 and Safenol on another furniture piece and got the same result.

It works like advertised.

It worked on 5 coats of paint. Lead based under coats through 2 latex top coats. I did take a little work because all of the different type paints but, I'm very happy with it.

Surprised with the ease

I’ve never stripped wood before so this review comes from an inexperienced person. It did a great job but there is a learning curve. I was stripping an oak 6 panel door that I had used the wrong polyurethane on it (soft satin is very shiny for a door).Slop it on and let it sit. It needs to sit longer than 15 minutes. It starts reacting immediately but the change in texture doesn’t mean it’s drying or that it’s finished. A credit card worked great for removing it from the corners. Use disposable gloves, I used gardening gloves I had bought for $1. The remover ate a hole in them, I imagine it would not be healthy to not use gloves. Make sure you get in those corners, it will leave gunk behind and you don’t want to restain over it. I need to strip the edging as well and will definitely use this again. I had plenty for the 8’ door and have enough to strip the door edging.I watched a few videos and it was on the “best strippers” list. Do not search for best strippers, you will regret having it on your search history. 😆

Easy to use, don’t let it dry.

Great product I’ve used for years. This particular line doesn’t clean as easily as the original, but is still very good. Just don’t let ANY of it dry on your project.
